Shotlink guides / Event QR codes
Create QR codes for a short event or college activity
Use separate routes for registration, the event schedule, and feedback. Each destination has a different useful lifetime, even when all three belong to the same event.
Guest: up to 30 minutes. Workspace: up to 7 days. No payment details needed for Free.
How to use it
Pick one task per code
Send registration visitors to the registration page and attendees to the schedule. Label every QR with the action it performs, such as View today's schedule.
Create a verified workspace
Use a free workspace for up to 10 active links and 5 QR codes. Choose an expiry that covers the event; the current maximum link lifetime is seven days.
Make a print-ready handoff
Download the QR image, leave clear space around it, and include the short URL as a text alternative. Test the actual printed size rather than only the image on your monitor.
Check the route on event day
Scan using a phone on mobile data. Check destination permissions and remaining link lifetime. Keep an alternative route ready if the venue network or destination fails.
Before you share
- Guest links last at most 30 minutes and are unsuitable for posters shared days ahead.
- For promotions spanning more than seven days, use a durable destination directly until longer-lived links are supported.
- A QR scan can produce a link click; it is not proof of attendance, payment, or registration.
- Free workspace limits apply. Paid checkout, multi-user invitations, and downloadable campaign exports are not available yet.
Common questions
Can a QR code work without internet?
The image can be printed offline, but opening the destination requires a network connection.
Can I keep the same printed QR forever?
No. Current Shotlink routes have an expiry. Use a durable URL directly for long-term signage.
